Ann-Margret will be the toast of Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum on March 31 when she will be honored 46 years after first visiting the aircraft carrier Yorktown when it was in service during the Vietnam War. The Patriots Point Development Authority and the USS Yorktown Association will welcome the two-time Academy Award nominee, Emmy winner and Golden Globe winner for her support of the military. Ann-Margret first visited the Yorktown in 1966 as part of a USO tour. As her plane circled the aircraft carrier in the South China Sea, Yorktown crew members spelled out the words "HI ANNIE" on the flight deck. The $45-per-ticket event will feature Vietnam-era music and a silent auction to benefit the Patriots Point Institute of History and Science. The 7 p.m. event also includes hors d'oeuvres and an open bar. About 500 tickets are available. For tickets or more information, go to www.patriotspoint.org.
